This is registration for full participation. I will demo and instruct. Critique and work with you while you paint. This is a hands on class.

This is a virtual workshop. it is best done with a large screen as possible to see.

The workshop will run 10 am to 4pm each day with coffee & lunch breaks. As zoom is new for many we will adapt as necessary
Day 1 please log in 15 minutes prior to workshop
We will start with a brief talk about subject - muse and inspiration and how to see it and bring that forward in your work. the definition of good composition, value , colour and line. I will explain the palette I use and why. the surface I use and why and the best setup for painting.
I will paint in stages allowing the class working time between. I will start by demonstrating my value sketch ( on the surface), then we will block in the colour and begin working up the subject.

1 Canvas or prepared * wood panel, 30 X 30 min 36 X 36 max or 30 X 36 or 30 X 40,. – I work on a 36 X 36 I suggest canvas for acrylic, the paint moves easier.
Brushes – I prefer a synthetic firm with good spring.
I use Mightlon long handle brights size, 4, 6, 8
and Robert Simmons Titanium short handle Glaze ¾ “ & 1”
both are available on my website to purchase
Odorless mineral spirits need a container with lid (stainless brush tin or shallow glass jar)– I use Gamsol
2 water tubs for acrylics
Palette You will need a large mixing area - glass is great and can be cleaned often as needed with a window scraper.
Your easel should be set up VERTICAL have your easel angled causes distortion .
Paper towels – one large roll at least
A good rubber glove for you cleaning hand. Vinyl is fine for your painting hand
*raw wood to be prepared with two coats of clear liquitex gesso sanded. Finished edges how you wish. Prepare min 2 days ahead.
* You will NOT get the same affects as myself working with acrylic. But I will help you along. Don’t forget you have to get your wet painting home ☺

Many colours have the same name and are the same… some aren’t. It’s a learning curve getting to know each brand

If purchasing other brands compare colours! Different brands have different colour and names. Colour charts are on the web. I don’t know them so can’t really help. I can help you mix what you have

Kama Oil sticks – Kama oil sticks are a hard stick of strong pigment used for calligraphy and scribbles. Other brands are soft and mushy. Pick a few to play with! My fav are Cyan, Cad orange light, Turquoise Cobalt Light, Azur blue. Cinnabar Green, Fluorescent Pink BUY WHAT YOU LIKE
