Our First Zoom meeting will be Monday June 6 at 7 pm EDT
we will discuss image and surfaces and set up dates and times that work for all.  First zoom is chat only about subject, vision, composition etc.
Brush it Bold 'ALL IN' workshop

This workshop is different from other and for intermediate to advanced painters only.
It will run in short sessions over a month with no work in between. Yes that's correct you may not touch your surface between sessions. We will be concentrating on abstract  mark making. Slowly building the image   until we are happy.  This class will take control!  It's hard not to touch
You will need Photoshop Elements for this this workshop. its affordable and excellent. I recommend it for every serious artist.
First we will meet up on zoom and discuss what to look for in an image , prepping your surface, tools and paint and then talk about dates and times to get together.
We will start with choosing 8 images each  (your own images )and work in Photoshop Elements to edit for Composition (color, value, Balance and colour) until we make one that will work.
Then we will percolate this image in our thoughts for a few days before we touch the surface. You can paint in your head and sketch but no painting!
Then we will work in 1.5 hour increments over a few weeks slowly building layers until we are happy with the final product.

This idea behind this workshop is to have you thinking abstractly. Short sessions will keep you loose and your marks simple. Not touching the surface again until the next session will clear your mind of preconceived ideas and allow a fresh eye.

Please note: the zoom link and information to get the most from this workshop will be mailed out 1 week prior.
This is a virtual workshop. it is best done with a large screen as possible to see.
You may also need a tablet or phone to take and email photos  although I am working on a solution to that
Please have some scrap paper to practice brush strokes on.

Good lighting is important. I must be able to see your painting. the light should be on the painting not behind.
Your easel should be set up straight, not at an angle

Oil paint – KAMA OR GAMBLIN
Paint  - my personal preferences after 25 years of painting. No tube greens or black allowed ☺
If you don’t like a colour don’t buy it!
Many colours have the same name and are the same… some aren’t. It’s a learning curve getting to know each brand

Colours in BOLD are large 150 ml tubes.
If purchasing other brands compare colours! Different brands have different colour and names. Colour charts are on the web. I don’t know them so can’t really help. I can help you mix what you have
