Are you interested in the different pigments and their properties? Transparent, opaque, sedentary, staining, warm, cool, luminosity, etc. Each one of these properties can make or break that perfect painting.
This will be a ZOOM demonstration and a discussion on the properties of different paint colours. I will be working in oil but I welcome anyone with Acrylic experience to chime in. while the pigment properties are the same the binders and manufacturer can affect the behavior.
Approximately 2 hours in length we'll see what can get covered and perhaps do another to add more colours.
we can always learn something new and know your medium inside out give the artist the advantage of pushing that medium to places others have never been.
As there are so many pigments out there for this 'story' we will begin with yellows and blues and learn to mix harmonious greens.
we'll see how our time goes and bring in others as necessary.
Please work along with me. have a Large white surface - either canvas or gessoed paper or panel. nothing fancy. This is a workshop.
get out ALL your paint tubes. Don't squeeze them out. we will dip if we can to save room. Don't worry if they aren't the same as mine. you're here to learn to use what you have. And if you stumble across a new favourite colour then YAY!!
